Beforecourt Limited is a Paralegal firm that occasionally provides advocacy services in the County Court. Our Managing Director Guy Tinsley is qualified as a Barrister but is unregistered. This means that while he is regulated by the Bar Standards Board, there are some legal services he cannot provide. Where these apply, we assist our clients in finding the right legal professional. Please refer to our Legal Policy for more information.
No, we do not provide services around criminal law or procedure. We advise in every case that you consult with a specialist Criminal Law Practitioner.
With Beforecourt, you are an important part of the process from start to finish. We expect to offer a cost-effective approach to your legal problem which keeps you firmly in control. You are always free to disengage at any time.
In some cases, in the County Court (Small Claims track) and at Employment tribunals we may provide Advocacy services. In others, we will assist you in finding the right legal professional to take your case forward.
As the name suggests, our first aim is to help people and companies resolve disputes, to their satisfaction, long before having to take it to Court.
Civil disputes are any contentious legal matters that do not involve the Criminal Justice System. They involve anything from Consumer Rights, Business, Employment, Injury, Wills & Probate and Neighbour disputes. We can help you classify your dispute if you’re not sure.
No, we do not work on a “contingency basis”. Instead, we have set our fees to be affordable and cost-effective. We work on a discounted rate of £150 for the first three hours and a flat rate of £65 per hour “on account” thereafter. We accept payment by bank transfer.
These are the necessary steps a Court expects all litigants to take, whether the matter goes to Court or not. We help you fulfil these protocols with a view to resolving the dispute. If it must escalate, your clearly presented electronic bundle demonstrates that you did everything the Court expects of you and clearly states your case.
It is impossible to say because every case is different. We aim to give you a better idea of the process and timescales during your free, 20-minute case consultation.
